History and Civilization of the Muslims
The main goal of the Department of History and Civilization of the Muslims is understanding the history and achievements of Muslim civilizations, their growth process, and their weaknesses.
Our national identity is characterized by two attributes: being Islamic and Iranian; In other words, being Islamic is a part of our national identity. To restore this identity, it is necessary to get acquainted with the history of formation and evolution of Islamic civilization. The field of history and civilization of Islamic nations was first established in 1335 as "Islamic culture" in the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies, University of Tehran, and in 1348 it was renamed to "Islamic culture and civilization" and in 1982 to "history and civilization of Islamic nations", and it was then gradually established in other universities. Great people such as Mohammad Ibrahim Ayati, Mojtaba Minavi, Amir Hassan Yazdgerdi, Seyed Jalaluddin Mohaddes Armavi, Mohammad Taghi Daneshpajooh, Abdolhossein Zarrinkoob, Manouchehr Sotoudeh, Abolghasem Ejtehadi and Hadi Alamzadeh are among the founders of this field. This field has been established in the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies of Shahid Beheshti University since 2013 and has started its work by accepting 5 students in the master's degree and now intends to complete the faculty of the group and establish a scientific research and development journal ...) for the coming years.
