Religions and Mysticism

The Department of Religions and Mysticism has been engaged in academic studies and postgraduate education at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies since 2011 with two disciplines: Comparative Mysticism and Islamic Mysticism. Among the mentioned fields, the field of comparative mysticism was defined for the first time in Iran by the professors of this department and was approved by the Ministry of Science, and therefore this department should be considered the founder of this field in the country. In the field of comparative mysticism, students are acquainted with various mystical traditions in the form of different religions and cultures and evaluate them comparatively. In the field of Islamic mysticism, students become acquainted with the schools, currents and concepts of rich Islamic mysticism. In 1399, based on the experience of ten years of teaching comparative mysticism in accordance with official licenses, the specialists of this scientific group reviewed seriously the courses and topics in this field and approved them. Planning for the quantitative expansion of disciplines in both master's and doctoral degrees is one of the group's current top priorities.
